The visit to Fleet St. begins on Elisa’s house – a character based on Maria Velho da Costa’s novel Casas Pardas. Between the memories of a bourgeois education and the post-revolution modern society, Elisa struggles in search of a “national identity”, of an “unresolved nationality”.
