Quarto Escuro de Goethe podcast is a six-episode series dedicated to the chapters of Theory of Colours by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Through conversations with scientists, philosophers, and artists, the podcast explores the relationships between light, colour, perception, and morphology, weaving together theoretical knowledge, experimentation, and contemporary thought.

Each episode investigates several phenomena—from colour perception to the dynamics of light and shadow, from the physiology of vision to the visible spectrum—commented on by researchers from different fields who revisit Goethe’s work in the light of contemporary science and art.

Featuring contributions from Maria Filomena Molder (Philosophy), Vítor Cardoso (Physics), Benilde Costa (Physics), Marta Teixeira (Neuropsychology), and sound artist Nick Rothwell, among others, the podcast serves as an interdisciplinary space that deepens the dialogue between artistic production and scientific research.

The series follows the creative process of the performative-installation project Goethe’s Dark Room, documenting reflections, hypotheses, and discoveries that emerge along the way. Each episode functions as a living chapter that expands Goethe’s work and opens up new perspectives on the visible, perception, and comtemplation.
